The decline of wind

Wind is free, abundant, nonpolluting, and you don’t have to extract it from the earth. It’s easy to see why the people who built businesses on the promise of wind turbines as an energy source said, “What could go wrong?” Little did they know that global wind speeds would decrease, cutting the maximum amount of energy that can be gleaned from gusts.
