Here's a posting by a CS student talking about the need and the role of math education in CS. Here he talks of calculus math - but from his tone - I assume he extends this to other fields of math in general - including algebra, probability theory, statistics , etc.

I would completely agree with everything that he said if he were to just replace "Computer Science" with either "Software Engineering" or "Information Technology".
